Beauty Faves

I got really great feedback the last time I did a “things I’m loving” in terms of beauty products so I figured it was time for another one. These are my latest beauty faves!

You may notice the mascara is familiar looking…it’s the same brand I posted about last time except it’s BLUE! Yes! L’Oréal came out with their same fabulous L’Oréal Voluminous Original mascara formula in a blue hue. I get too many complements when I wear it it’s almost embarrassing (especially because I forget I’m wearing blue mascara!) oh, and you can buy it at Walmart for under $7! It’s a no brainer and way fun for spring/summer.  This is also a nod to the first makeup I ever wore, which was purple mascara 🙂

The next thing I’m loving is my IT Your Skin But Better CC+ Full Coverage Foundation. I have acne prone skin that gets oily before the day is over.  This stuff really does make it look like it’s your skin BUT BETTER! And it helps keep my skin from looking like a shiny mess by the day’s end.  It has a nice light lemony scent that is the farthest thing from a makeup smell, it’s quite nice! I set it with my Bare Minerals Mineral Veil and it’s awesome. You can get this at Ulta for around $38 (a little goes a long way).

The final product is this stunning gold, shimmery, perfection of a color nail polish. More specifically it’s Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polish in terra coppa. My friend introduced me to it and said she loved the formula so I gave it a try. I honestly thought I had tried all the nail polishes out there but this one surpasses them all. This stuff is self-leveling so you have a smooth finish on your nail bed and it LASTS SO LONG considering it’s not an actual gel polish. You don’t have to cure this under an LED light and it removes with normal nail polish remover. Totally try it, you won’t be disappointed. It easily lasts a week without chipping and that’s super long in my opinion. I want all. The. Colors. And a bottle will cost your around $8. Not too shabby.

Which one are you wanting to try?!

Favorite things lately

img_7871I enjoy and appreciate when a blogger posts about certain things they are loving at the moment, so I thought I would share what I’m loving lately with you guys! (My inner thought: “if I find it useful and interesting, maybe my friends will too?!”) What I’m really loving this second? A late night snack of carrots and hummus. But I digress….

NYX Micro Brow Pencil and NYX Control Freak Clear Brow Gel (find it here and here)

This stuff is legit! I used to buy the expensive Anastasia brand of both the pencil and clear brow gel, and this NYX brand gives the same exact results and application as the stuff that’s more than double its price! The pencil glides on easily (no tugging on your skin) and the brow gel isn’t too thick or heavy and you can’t even tell it’s on. I love that it sets my brow hairs in place and I don’t have to worry about the “tails” of my brows getting smushed out of place or going a little crazy looking throughout the day.

TRESemme Keratin Smooth hair serum (find it here)

img_7869

I have very fine and thin hair, but I have a lot of it. Whenever I blow dry it it gets all tangled and is a hot mess. When I put this in my damp hair and finger comb it through, I can literally blow dry my hair without a brush and run my fingers through it without getting caught halfway down. It makes my hair pretty much frizz free and suuuuuuper smooth. It’s not too heavy or oily feeling like some serums can, and this is important for us fine haired gals! I can’t believe I’m just starting to use something like this. Oh, and it’s cheap! AND it doesn’t make my hair greasy or oily. Total win!

Adjustable Rose Gold Feather Bling Bracelet (find it here)

img_7868

I love this feminine little rose gold bracelet I just got the other day from Charming Charlie. I have always loved feathers (they remind me of Native American jewelry which I love), and this one is just a more glitzy and trendy version. I also have been loving the adjustable part which is something you normally see on bracelets that are made of string (think of friendship bracelets!). I like the movement of the loose ends and the little bit of bling there doesn’t hurt either. This bracelet was $8! Super cute and looks great layered with other bracelets/a watch/other metals (silver/gold).

Alright, that’s all from me for now. Hope you enjoyed what I’m loving lately! A little dose of girly never hurt anyone.

Do you have favorite beauty/fashion buys you’re loving lately? Do tell!!!

Katie
